I love a great sandwich. A deep stuffed meaty, ooey and gooey one is just drool worthy. It needs great meat, condiments and bread. This is the Brooklyn’s Finest at the Massapequa Diner. Pastrami, corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing on toasted rye, was just fantastic. The onion rings that accompany the Brooklyn’s finest were big and crispy. A great ring. We also tried new on their menu the Asian Wrap. Pulled chicken, napa cabbage, cucumber, crispy wontons in a soy vinaigrette was just fabulous. Served along with homemade potato chips, it was a light and refreshing wrap. The homemade potato chips were really homemade as I asked our server. I was told every day Monday thru Friday a special person is brought into the diner just to make these chips. Sliced thin and fried lightly, they are the best chips I ever had.
I must also compliment the dessert showcase. By far the best and most delectable assortment of wonderful fare. The strawberry cheesecake is stunning. The mousse pies, and other cakes were mouthwatering. Each cake and pie looked fresh baked and out of the world delicious.
The service at The Massapequa Diner did not disappoint. From the host to the server, everyone knew the diner very well. The waiter knew everything on the menu and was able to offer suggestions as to the food I wanted to try. The servers were very nice and pleasing the clients were their first priority. The diner is bright and cheery. I have definitely missed out on The Massapequa Diner, but that will defiitely be rectified.
