One Month and Finally Home
I know it has been awhile since I blogged last. I think between going to the hospital and the rehab, there was really not much to blog about. Between eating out every night and running back and forth , I was exhausted and it took its toll on my blogging. I think it is the first time since I lived in Florida 30 years ago that I did not cook for a full month. I know I made beer bread on St. Patrick’s day, but that really didn’t count. But we are home now and now it is back to cooking. Last night for Passover I ordered Chinese take out and had it delivered. What is good is that we have enough leftovers for dinner for Thursday night after we get home from the doctor. It was the first time in many years we did not go to my friend for Passover. I have to say I really did miss not being there. It was a really long day and we did not get discharged and back home until mid afternoon. It was a physically and emotionally crazy day. My friend dropped by with a box of matzoh. Now I can and will make breakfast today which will be an old time matzoh brei. My daughter loves my matzoh brei. It will be nice to cook for her. I do however miss the housekeeping staff at the hospital and the rehab. In that respect, I was a bit spoiled. They would bring a tray to and from the room, and forget about the dirty dishes and pots and pans. I did not wash a dish or piece of silverware in a month. I must say I did miss the cooking. However I did not miss the mess or the cleanup involved with cooking. The good news is my daughter is getting stronger and better. Tonight for dinner I am going to cook something yummy. I’m just not sure what it will be. After a month of running back and forth from the hospital and rehab, I am so happy that I don’t have to go anywhere until the doctor tomorrow for her two week follow up visit. The weather is finally nice today, and I might just make a BBQ. I finally looked through my freezer last night and I found steaks, ground turkey and a roast beef. One of them will definitely be on tonight’s menu. I will blog tomorrow on how my cooking turned out today. I will also be blogging this week on the take out foods from all of the food establishments that we dined on for the last few weeks. But for now my fans Happy Passover. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
