Life’s twists and turns
Last night I was at the Apple store and tonight I am Vassar Hospital. The chicken recipe I was planning for tonight has been postponed. I am at the hospital with my daughter who slipped and broke her ankle. They say it was a bad break and will probably need surgery. It is a big blow for her. It is very sad for me to see her go through this. A parents worse nightmare is traveling to your child when you don’t know the extent of the injury. It has been a very unsettling time. As much as I missed her I did not want her home, not like this. By the way it is no longer Thursday night. It is SuperBowl Sunday night. The next day’s xray showed that she will need surgery. She was discharged Friday afternoon and we drove home. I now need a surgeon who s an ankle specialist. So for now I have been taking full time care of my child. After surgery, I can go back to recipe writing and testing again. Right now I am just going to settle for taking care of my daughter, and be happy that I have a daughter to take care of.
