Cooking and Storing
I did so much cooking over the last few days, make that over the last month when my daughter came in from college. We ate the soups, the zucchini spaghetti, the bolognese and the soup. I made so much soup that today I must freeze it. I still have half a turkey downstairs in my fridge. I already miss my daughter. I now need to use the containers my daughter left me and freeze up my leftovers. I love to cook. It is therapy for me. The cleanup is not so therapeutic. I do not like to clean. It is daunting. Cleaning up after cooking is not relaxing. Sometimes hen I think of cleaning makes me question whether or not I want to cook. Thank goodness for my dishwasher. I have come to think of my dishwasher as my new best friend. I can put many of my pots and pans in the dishwasher, but not all of them. I cannot put my stainless steel pots and pans in the dishwasher. Those need to be washed. Since my pots and pans that I use belonged to my grandmother, they need to be hand washed. They are not hard to clean, but they must be hand washed. Well the good news is that with so many leftovers, I really can take a few days off from cooking. I want to do some thinking of recipes. I need to vary the foods that I am eating. I really need to make salmon and other fish to keep myself interesting. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
