Whole Wheat vs. Traditional

I grew up on bologna on white bread. My parents and grandparents grew up on the same. I remeber going to the real Wonder Bake Shop and watched how bread was made and got samples of mini bread loafs when we departed. I can still smell the wonderful aroma of that trip. Somethings just stay with you. Now everything is about whole wheat. Experts are now saying whole wheat is much better than white bread, flour and even pasta. It is less processed and has more fiber. Many of the facts about whole wheat are true. I am also about eating healthy and eating what tastes good. In terms of bread, I do like the whole wheat bread better than white bread. However I  do not like eggy whole wheat bread products for example challah or bagels. I like whole wheat pita bread and I would choose that over white pita bread. When it comes to pasta, I differ in many ways. I do not mind whole wheat macaroni. I do not like whole wheat spaghetti, linguine or fettuccine. I made the whole what cous cous with roasted veggies. It was similar. I rather have regular cous cous, but the whole wheat pasta was alright. Since my daughter is now on only whole wheat products, I better stock up and suck it up and eat it. The recipe for whole wheat pasta is posted on the bonappetitmom recipes page. I made lemon thyme cod in a pouch to serve with it. That recipe is also posted on the bonappetitmom recipes page. Pictures of both can be found on my instagram page. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
