Thinking AboutThanksgiving
It is the time of year that I begin to think about Thanksgiving. We go to my sister’s home each year. We run about 15 to 20 people. I try to bake something each year that I have not made before. Sometimes it is a hit, sometimes nobody touches it. I saw 2 recipes for peanut butter truffles and pie. I think I am going to attempt to make them. I also love making my traditional recipes. My grandmother’s stuffing is my absolute favorite all time dish. It takes me back to my childhood every time I make it. My nieces will not let me in without without my corn pudding. I also make fresh cranberry sauce. I just love it with turkey on Thanksgiving or leftover on a sandwich. Anyway it is now that I begin to make my Thanksgiving shopping list. I begin with a menu. Years ago my brother in laws family included a pasta dish and a ham. We decided years ago to cut out the pasta dish because we never ate the turkey. Right now this is my estimated menu, as things might change as I go forward. The turkey, stuffing, corn pudding, string bean casserole, cranberry sauce, are standard. Sometimes I go into a food market look at an ingredient and become inspired. This is the first in a series of my Thanksgiving blogs. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
