I had the wonderful opportunity to dine at Gino’s of Seaford. From the outside it has tinted windows and you cannot see the inside. Once you open the door, their beautiful pizzas are on display. At the back of the pizzeria is the entrance to their dining room. We were seated at a lovely table and offered a wine list and menus. The bread basket was a wonderful assortment of focaccia, and Italian bread. Our server was lovely and was very familiar with the menu. The menu is a wonderful assortment of pizzas, pastas, and entrees of seafood and chicken dishes. As we glanced the menu trying to decide,  the chooses were awesome and we asked our server for recommendations.

We started with the fried calamari with their spicy marinara sauce. The calamari was light, crispy and delish. Served with a spicy sauce it was fabulous. We also had the Italian Spring rolls with the house marinara sauce. The Italian Spring rolls were filled with sausage, broccoli rabe, peppers and  mozzarella cheese was just glorious. Our last appetizer was rice balls. The rice balls filled with meat, and fried perfectly was light and packed with flavor. Served with one of the finest vodka sauces, i ever had it was luscious. What a treat for those who adore rice balls.

The first entree we had was Tortellini Cotto. Creamy basil pestosauce, sun dried tomatoes, and cheese tortellini, finished with a sliced breaded chicken cutlet.  It was rich and decadent. The pesto and sun dried tomatoes was so flavorful and was a perfect match with the chicken. This dish was so pretty, almost to pretty to eat. The key word, almost. The Shrimp Monalisa was superb. Breaded jumbo shrimp with mozzarella cheesein a brown marsala wine sauce, with mushrooms, was a grand slam. Served with broccoli and carrots, this is one spectacular dish. To finish the meal we had a spumoni. A traditional Italian dessert of three flavors of ice cream was so refreshing and delightful. Served with a wonderful biscotti, it was the perfect end to a phenomenal meal.

Good things come in small packages, now I’m changing it to great things come in small packages. In the small town of Seaford,NY is a well hidden restaurant on Merrick Road. Behind the tinted glass windows is the most fabulous foods. The service is just marvelous. It is a low key restaurant with large and flavorful foods. The food was fantastic. Gino’s of Seaford is a must try when you are on Long Island. You will not be disappointed.
