Christian’s Parkside Cafe is located on Motor Avenue across the the street from Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park. Upon entering, we saw a nice, clean cafe. The cafe sits opposite a fully-stocked bar, and multiple TVs surround the walls, showing off a variety of sports games from baseball to NASCAR. Through an opening in the wall on the dining side of the restaurant, you can see the operating kitchen. There is a fireplace at the end of the bar, with comfy chairs where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail and food. We were greeted by a lovely hostess and seated right away. Our waitress came over with our menu and offered us something to drink before handing my daughter and I a drink menu. The house menu and menu specials offer a nice variety of choices.
The calamari kung pao was crunchy and delicious. It had good flavor and was not overly spicy. The quesadillas with short ribs and cheese were flavorful, and were offered as a chef special. On the special was a coconut macadamia crusted salmon over spinach and rice. The pasta bolognese was very hearty, a generous portion of tagliatelle with a thick bolognese was mighty fine. A chocolate peanut butter bomb was brought over to the table. The taste of the peanut butter with the chocolate was very good.
The service at Christian’s Parkside Cafe was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were very eager to please and did their best to make sure the patrons were happy. The chef came out to ask if we were pleased with our food. It is a nice place to bring the family for an early dinner, as they do have a nice children’s menu. For a family with a wide variety of tastes, this cafe may be just the thing you need to serve your needs.
