Tra’ mici, an Italian restaurant that recently opened up in Massapequa Park, NY, in nothing less than fabulous. What you see as you enter the restaurant is a fantastic fully stocked bar. On the other side of the bar are very comfortable club chairs. The room is so inviting that I would just go back there to have a drink and relax.  The staff is so welcoming and eager to please. My daughter and I were seated in their lovely restaurant. The restaurant is very stylish. We were seated in a very comfortable booth and were given menus right away. We were told of the wonderful specials and were brought delicious bread with flavored olive oil for dipping. Tra’ mici also offered a price fix menu which was just fabulous and very fairly priced. Their regular menu had some lovely choices as well.

For the cocktails, we ordered the Dragon Berry Daiquiri, which had Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum, Red Raspberry Tea Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice, and a Lime Wedge. We also ordered The Massapequa Special, made of Muddled Cucumber, Basil, Cucumber Vodka, and Bitters. The drinks were refreshing and quite delicious. For our appetizers, we had the Polpettine, house made meatballs with tomato sauce and ricotta. We also had the Crab Cakes, served with tomato jam, cucumber slaw and chipotle honey. The meatballs were tender and the ricotta was very creamy. The crab cakes were tender and the chipotle honey was the perfect top to the wonderful array of flavor from the crab. It was delicious. We had the Lasagne alla Bolognese, layers of house made noodles, bechamel, bolognese sauce, and Parmesan cheese. The noodles were so delectable and the flavors just melded and melted in your mouth. The Cotoletta Valdostana, thinly pounded pan-fried veal stuffed with ham and fontina cheese, was served under baby arugula, baby beet salad, and served with roasted root vegetables. The plate was beautifully presented and when cutting into the veal, the cheese came oozing out. The beet salad of red and yellow beets was dressed perfectly. On the dessert menu we had Torta di Ricotta, Italian cheesecake and fruit compote. We also had the Torta di Cioccolata, flourless chocolate tart and chocolate sauce. Both desserts wee decadent. Included in the price fix was a glass of the house wine.

Tra’ mici is a wonderful restaurant that is new to the Massapequa Park area. Based on the wonderful food, elegant and comfortable seating, and the marvelous service, I am certain that Tra’ mici is going to become a very popular establishment. I definitely plan on making a return trip soon.
