The BBG (The Butcher’s Bar and Grill) located in Williston Park New York, is a stylish, modern and chic restaurant. After the option to valet park my car, we walked into a very open, airy and beautiful restaurant. The walls in a beautiful cream color are hung with many eclectic and visual pleasing sights. In the area that I was sitting with a picture of a cow numbered and labeled with the different parts of the cow and the selections of meat from each part of the cattle. Another was a blackboard with the selection of the raw bar. At the end of the restaurant was the name in metal under lights. The bar was busy with patrons having cocktails, and conversation. This was not your average steakhouse restaurant.

The menu is a magazine of their extensive wine list, lavish foods and black and white pictures of the bar, patrons and the owners in typical old school fashion.  The selection of appetizers was divine, making it very hard to choose. We had the BBG’S roasted garlic bread. Thick sticks of buttery, garlicky bread in tower form served over their artisanal cheese fondue with herbs was exquisite. We had the Nantucket Rock Shrimp. Tempura fried shrimp served with a green chili aioli, with crunchy and juicy bites of delectable shrimp. We tried the Wedge Salad, iceberg lettuce, crispy bacon and crumpled blue cheese. Crisp and refreshing with the thick sliced bacon was just fabulous. We ordered the signature rib eye, cream of spinach and the mac and cheese. Presented beautifully on piping hot plates, we dived into the rib eye. The essence of butter lingered on your tongue as the steak just melted in your mouth. There was just enough grizzle to make the flavor stand out even further. The cream of spinach was so thick and rich, just luscious. It had a magic ingredient that brought out the wow factor. The mac and cheese was sinfully delicious. Made with a mixture of different cheeses and finished off with panko bread crumbs and a nuance of truffle oil was irresistible. We topped off our meal with coffee, cappuccino, cheesecake, and the house creme brulee. The cheesecake came with a raspberry sauce and was divine. The creme brulee under the hard sugar crust was silky smooth and just rolled around in your mouth with a wonderful vanilla flavor was over the top.

The service at The BBG was second to none. From the moment we were seated and made comfortable our wait staff offered us drinks and their signature menu. We asked for their recommendation for each of our selections, and they know their menu very well. The management was engaged in the dining room  with the patrons and the kitchen staff, as you can see the kitchen from anywhere that you were seated. The BBG is a classy up scale restaurant that I definitely will return to.
