Runyon’s  of Coral Springs has a reputation second to none. I have heard nothing but amazing compliments for months. I finally had the opportunity to visit Runyon’s this week with my friend and her daughter. From the moment you walk into Runyon’s it has the ambiance of an old world style restaurant that you would watch on an old time movie. Upon being seated, the waiter holds out a chair for each guest. You then have a napkin draped over your lap and a wonderful experience is about to begin.

Upon looking over their wonderful lunch menu, we are told of the specials of the day. Warm rolls with butter are brought to the table and we dived right in. The garden salad was divine with fresh vegetables surrounded by endive leafs. The Caesar salad was fresh and very tasty. My friend and I shared the Sonoma Chicken. Chicken breasts sauteed with spinach, grape tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and  very  tender. It was  served with grilled asparagus and green beans cooked to perfect a la dente.  My girlfriend’s daughter had their signature Chef’s Burger. A blend of brisket, short rib and chucked on a brioche roll with coleslaw. This was the best burger by far that I ever tasted. The meat was so flavorful and tender that it just melted in your mouth. The coleslaw was crisp and refreshing. We were so satisfied which left no room for their scrumptious looking deserts.

My dad wanted to try Runyon’s for dinner before I left. We were seated at a table by the fireplace, very nice for a cool Florida evening.  We decided to try the Shrimp Caparrelli, jumbo shrimp stuffed with Provolone cheese wrapped in prosciutto baked in garlic and bread crumbs. The shrimps were luscious. We also tried the French Onion Soup. This was the real deal onion soup made with genuine beef broth. It was sublime. My dad had the Filet Mignon, succulent with every bite. I had the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with a horseradish sauce, every mouthful was filled with delicious juicy flavorful tender bites of perfect meat. The mashed potatoes were decadent. We then shared the Creme Brulee for dessert that was so creamy under the hard sugar shell.

After asking for the check, our waiter brought over warm towels to wash our hands. Eating at Runyon’s was more than just a simple out to dinner experience. It was an event. The food was spectacular. The service was outstanding. Eating at Runyon’s is dining at a true five star restaurant.  I look forward to going back for many more wonderful experiences at Runyon’s.
