Snowstorms and Cooking Plus Shoveling Out
Snowstorms and cooking for me goes hand in hand. When the snow comes, I get food shopping and prepare to cook. This year with the latest blast of snow, it has been cooking but it also meant extra care for Mr. Max. Shoveling out for Mr. Max was crucial and necessary. At the start of the 17″ snowstorm, I made beef stew. The recipe for Jane’s beef stew is posted on bonappetitmom recipes page. The pictures of Jane’s beef stew is posted on the Instagram page. On Tuesday morning I put up pulled pork. I made the pulled pork in my slow cooker. I took 6 center cut porkchops that were partially frozen and put them in my slow cooker with my secret blend of BBQ seasoning. I plugged it in and I went out and shoveled snow. The pulled pork was delicious. I added a little chicken stock on the last hour of cooking to keep it moist. Dinner and cleanup was a breeze thanks to my slow cooker. I was so tired from shoveling, that I was grateful that I made the pulled pork in the slow cooker that goes in the dishwasher.
