Grandma Gussie’s Matzoh Brei
Grandma Gussie’s Matzoh Brei came along as a pleasent accident. My dad stayed over and I needed to make breakfast. He was going to have a roll, but I had matzoh in the house left from Passover. I asked him if he wanted Matzoh brei and he asked if i had an onion. I told him I did, so I began. I minced an onion and sauted it in butter and olive oil. I then proceeded to make my usual matzoh brei except for the addition of pepper. The recipe is posted on bonappetitmom recipes page. My dad said that it reminded him of the way his mother used to make it. Hence the recipe title Grandma Gussie’s Matzoh Brei.
