Cleaning out the Fridge
With everybody gone, it is time to clean out the fridge. I have a feeling that I will find some surprises in the back of the fridge. I can tell you there a lot of leftovers in there now. Since I have been fed at Mangano Headquarter’s , and go out with friends for a quick bite, I can only imagine what is in store for me today. We are nearing the end of September and we have had some crazy October weather systems. We can go from the 80’s to the 30’s all in the space of 30 days. We have had hurricanes two years in a row. I have lost power both years, and I have lost a lot of food. I have a lot of vegetables in my freezer in the basement. I do not know the contents of my freezer in my kitchen. I will have a better idea of my food inventory in my home by the end of the day. Election day is the first Tuesday in November. I have 4 weeks of campaigning to do. I do not plan to over shop this time for food. I am thinking of just making some turkey meatballs and vegetables. I like to cook in advance and then fool around with the finished products as I play around with recipes during the week. My daughter is coming in in two weeks for a few days, and I will cook for her as well. I also like to go to some farmer markets and fairs. I have purchased fresh vegetables and I have learned to use them right away or I will lose them. I am almost ready to go into my fridge. Wish me luck. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
