Yesterday I had my last visit with my gynecologist. I have been seeing this doctor for over 25 years. Since my daughter was about 9 years old, we made a day of going into Brooklyn from Long Island. We would schedule our activities around my appointment with my doctor, We would go the aquarium, a baseball game or just went visiting to friends and family. Each visit introduced my daughter to famous food places in my home town of Brooklyn New York. We went to kosher pizzerias  for falafel, knishes and pizza in Midwood. We went to Brennan and Carr for roast beef sandwiches. We went to Ave T deli for old style Jewish delicatessen foods. My daughter’s favorite of all time is  the original Nathan’s Hot Dogs in Coney Island. Our first visit was actually an unplanned visit. We were going to go to the famous Brooklyn Aquarium. We were on our way, and I was hungry. I decided to stop for a quick lunch at Nathan’s and we ate delicious hotdogs. My daughter loved the hotdogs and the french fries. It was so reminisce of times of my childhood when my parents and grandparents would take us down to Coney Island.  Since I found parking and it was a beautiful day, we went for a walk on the boardwalk. Needless to say the visit to the Brooklyn Aquarium waited for another day. Yesterday we went to Nathan’s for lunch. After lunch we took a ride over to Michael’s bakery.  Plainview is not famous for their bakeries. However in Brooklyn, there is Michael’s Bakery on Ave. R and Nostrand Ave.  Michael’s has everything a wonderful bakery has to offer. They have wonderful breads, cake and pastries. They are truly delectable. Michael’s alone is worth the ride on the Belt Parkway parking lot. After  eating lunch at Nathan’s we drove to Michael’s and picked up a few goodies. We brought some to my brotherinlaw’s family. We had a lovely visit. I also brought some goodies to my doctor. Since we did not get out of my doctor’s visit until after 8:00 pm, and rain in the forecast, my daughter and I ventured home. It was a lovely day, bittersweet, but lovely. I will miss my Dr. B. He was my go to doctor for so many years. I wish him much happiness on his very well deserved retirement. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
