Soup and Supper
Last week when it was a raw and rainy day, I made a spiral ham. I purchased it on sale from Shoprite. When you make a 10 pound bone in spiral ham for two, you have a lot of leftovers. Since I did not want to lose it or eat it every day for the next week, I decided to take it apart. I sliced the ham. I made individual baggies and I froze some of the ham. I left some ham for lunch meat for my daughter. I also made pea soup. The recipe foe Jane’s Pea Soup is posted on bonappetitmomrecipes page. As I made the pea soup, I decided to puree the soup. My blender was right next to me and I decided to use it. The chefs on television are RIGHT, to cover the top of the blender with a dish cloth to protect themselves from getting burned. I almost got burned, when the soup came shooting up from out the top of the blender. I only put one cup of liquid in the blender. I did not think the soup was going to explode like that. I am very glad that I did not put more soup in. I made sure when I did the second puree, I made sure to cover the blender with a dish towel, and it was much better. I also made turkey truffle and mac. I thawed ground turkey and I needed to cook it. I was not sure of how I wanted to prepare it. I had garlic and thyme that needed to be used before they went bad. I decided to chop some scallion and sprinkle it on top. I made some elbow macaroni and my daughter loved it. This recipe can be found in the bonappetitmomturkeyrecipes page.
