A Busy Day
My damage from Hurricane Sandy is finally being done. I have work going on in and outside m house. I needed to do shopping for the house, go for a mammogram and cook dinner. I bought bone in veal chops from Fairway. Since my grills are not accessible, I chose to pan fry the chop. Since I made an appointment to walk, Dinner had to be cooked fast. I decided to teach my daughter how to make a veal chop on the stove. I showed her how to feel for a very hot pan. We added a little evoo, placed the meat in the pan. We listened for the sizzle of the meat. I told her that meant the meat would start to carmalize. For my daughter’s layman terms, that meant turn brown. I told her the brown meant flavor and the meat would taste good. I told her to cook the meat for 8 minutes per side. I also told her on the flip to add scallions, and turn them. When I returned from the walk, she told me that she followed my instructions and the food was delicious. I just read the Plainview Patch. Ina Garten is going to be at Shoprite for a book signing.I must get dressed and go there. I hope my doors don’t get in the way.
