I can give Guy Fieri a run for his money
I love to eat. I really love to eat out. I can give Guy Fieri of the famed Diners, Drive-Ins and dives a true run for his money. What I really love to do is eat fabulous food in a great restaurant. And, when there is reasonably priced specials in an incredible bistro, it is wonderful. Snaps American Bistro in Wantagh, NY is that place. Nestled in a small strip mall south of Sunrise Highway on Wantagh Avenue is a wonderful little restaurant, that has a casual style eating, yet chick and pub styled. You are welcomed upon arrival but a lovely hostess. The service of the wait staff is wonderful. The service is fast, they are knowledgeable of the menu and do anything to appease the customers. Willie D would be impressed. Once the order goes in you do need to wait for a hot appetizer and dish because each dish is cooked to order. Last night we ordered the chicken teriyaki won-ton with soba noodles and salad. It was delivered in a Chinese food container. The won-tons were crisp and delicious and the pasta and salad were perfect. We also ordered the Snaps Thursday night special, Cheeseburgers for $5.00. My sister ordered hers medium, my daughter medium well and mine medium rare. We also added for $5.00 french fries. These are not any normal french fry. They are french fries with truffles and Parmesan cheese. Fries to die for. When are burgers were delivered to the table I looked at each burger after each bite, and they were cooked exactly to order. The burgers are approximately 4 ounces. Each burger is uniform in size. they come stacked with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and bacon. Don’t hold me to the bacon, but I am pretty sure it is in there. It is the perfect portion of burgers and fries. It is refreshing to find a perfectly portioned burger with great taste. For desert we ordered the strawberry shortcake. The whipped cream was fresh. The shortcake was sweet and delicious and held up to the delectable mix of sweet strawberries and whipped cream. I was tempted to check out the pineapple upside down cake with the gelato, but I was out voted. The meal was a success and we had a great experience in Snaps. This was not my first visit to Snaps and I know it will not be my last. The establishment is owned and run by their executive chef Scott Bradley. It is also wonderful to see the Food Network on their flat screen TV. Everything that comes out of the kitchen and into the dining room smells and looks delicious. I cannot wait for my next visit and truly wonderful eating experience that I have going and eating at Snaps. If you are in the Long Island area of New York, Snaps is located at 2010 Wantah Ave. in Wantagh NY. Give it a try for a great evening of wonderful ambiance and wonderful food. Stay safe my fans and Bon Appetit.
