A Great Burger

Yesterday was a busy day. My daughter and I did not know what we wanted for dinner. We went to Fairway for some inspiration. As we traveled through the freezer section, she stated the burgers looked good. Since they were on sale, I picked up a package of pre made burger patties. As we were driving home, she decided on pizza. I thought about it and decided to save $20.00 and make the burgers. I being in the tired mode that I was in, I decided not to BBQ. I pan fried the burgers. I heard it mention that if the meat is good you do not need to add anything even salt and pepper. I decided to see if that was true. I made the burgers and served them on a simple roll. I asked my daughter for her feedback. she said that they were really good. I told her that they had no seasoning on them. I added no salt and no pepper. I am now a true believer that a really good piece of meat does not need seasoning, at least a good hamburger. The burger was prime sirloin beef. It was a 80/20 mix. what that means is 80% of the meat is lean beef and 20% is the percentage of fat content in the meat. What the fat content does is to bring flavor to the burger. I must say for  under $4.00 we had great burgers. I  know it is cheaper to make your own burgers. To be quite honest, my burgers never come out as good or as even as the ones already prepared. To me I would rather spend a few more cents and buy them already made. That is one of the few cheats that I do enjoy. I will make my own meatballs, meatloaf etc, but burgers are the one luxury that I will buy already prepared.
