I had a wonderful experience at Burger Fi in Oceanside, NY. It is a different style burger place that I had never experienced before. The restaurant is big, clean and the ambiance is casual but sheik. The style of ordering your food is quite unique. There is no waitress service upon ordering your food. You order at register, and you are given a buzzer and the staff brings you the food when they see the buzzer going off. Beverages are self service. They have bottled craft sodas, freestyle beverages, craft wine and beer. Now this might sound like a fast food joint, but the similarities stop there.
The food is not the fast food that you would normally expect at a chained fast food restaurant. This is a true high quality burger establishment. The burgers are made from natural Angus beef. They also have specialty meats such as beef brisket and double Wagyu. The ingredients are also uniquely different. I have never seen truffle aioli or candied bacon – tomato jam at any other establishment. All of the ingredients are fresh, and never frozen. I ordered The CEO, a double Wagyu and brisket blend burger, with candied bacon tomato jam, truffle aioli and aged Swiss cheese. The burger is served on a toasted brioche bun with the Burger Fi logo branded on the top. The burger was so juicy. It was truly delectable. The flavors were incredible. I also tried the Breakfast All Day Burger, natural Angus beef, American cheese, bacon, maple syrup, fried egg, hash brown, grilled onions, and ketchup. It was a wonderful combination of the best breakfast foods at once swirling in your mouth. The hit of maple syrup took this burger to the next level. The hand cut fries with Parmesan cheese, herbs and aioli was over the top. Perfectly fried and topped with above was just incredible. The onion rings were enormous and breaded and fried to perfection.To complete the meal was the house red velvet shake. The shake was rich, creamy and packed with flavor. It was a glorious way to end the meal. The empty plates and trash are taken care of by the restaurant staff. Burger Fi is a fast service restaurant that aims to be as close to full service restaurant as possible. The ambiance is a casual style eatery, the food is amazing and you get the benefits of a fast food restaurant with aspects of service of a full serve restaurant. Burger Fi is ideal for families,as they offer a wonderful kids meal selection. It is also wonderful for a quick lunch with a friend, and you can order online and pick your food up. I love the concept of Burger Fi and I think it is going to catch on nicely. I can’t wait for another visit back to Oceanside.
