You can never judge a book by it’s cover. Upon pulling up to Duryea’s Lobster Deck you see a very humble looking establishment. And then you walk into this nautical, classy, upscale restaurant that is just gorgeous. It is a beautiful open area, with long modern frosted glass ball fixtures held up by ropes hanging from the ceiling, in the market area of the restaurant. As you enter the main part of the restaurant, there is track and recessed lighting. The tables are teakwood,  such as the chairs with comfy white cushions. When whether permits, a garage door is opened leading onto a beautiful deck looking out on the ocean. The view from the restaurant is stunning.

The menu is has a nice variation of choices and will accommodate the needs of all. We started the raw bar with shrimp and Montauk Pearl Oysters. Three sauces were served with the raw bar, a cocktail sauce, homemade dipping dressing and a French Mignonette Sauce. I tried all of the sauces with the shrimp, but the Mignonette sauce paired perfectly with the oysters. The lobster bisque was fabulous. With bits of lobster and a lovely broth, it was truly flavorful. The clam chowder was dreamy. Unusually creamy and rich were pieces of clams that made this soup divine. This  soup was so rich and decadent. For my entree I ordered the Lobster Cobb Salad. There was nothing typical about this salad, except for the generous amount of sweet delicious lobster. It was exquisite. Packed with flavor and unlike anything I ever had before.  Also on the order was the fluke po’boy with french fried potatoes was just scrumptious.  The fish was so juicy and flavorful. The fries were homemade and fried to perfection.  We were also treated to a glass of the house wine which is exclusive to Duryea’s and that they will be showcasing starting Memorial Day Weekend 2017. Duryea’s is offering an exclusive wine from France. It is Chateau Regusse, Pierreevert 2016. It is a delicious rose, a perfect wine that will compliment any of Durea’s offerings.

The service at Duryea’s was 5 star. From the moment you walk in you and seated, it is a wonderful experience. Our host and server were very friendly. The service was outstanding. Each dish was given enough time to enjoy and savor. Besides the outstanding restaurant, there is a wonderful fresh seafood market in the restaurant as well as in an  building next to the restaurant. The seafood is fresh and presented beautifully.
